In this term project, I was able to create and produce a contracted version of a coffee-lifestyle magazine concept. Through this experience I was able to improve my layout and design iteration skills, while incorporating emerging tech such as photoshop’s AI and midjourney, as well as motion graphics features through Adobe Aero.

Process

This project went through a variety of iterations from concepting to design critique rounds. I sourced inspiration and reference from lifestyle magazines and specifically ones with a japanese sense of design. The project was no easy tasks, especially given the niche of design that was being pursued, a special issue on Kissatsen (Japanese Jazz Cafe’s).

Outcome

The final piece contained half and full page ads, as well as a full spread and single page article. The final work also included an Augmented Reality(AR) experience for the back ad
