In this project my goal was to enhance my product design skills through an avenue of passion: Wes Anderson movies and package design. I built a branded wine bottle, package, bottle, and label from the ground up – only given the engineering specifications.

Process

With the engineering drawing and real bottle as my only points of reference, I was able to create a 3D model and render in fine detail a viable final product of my own creation.

Further, given my understanding of the converting process of packaging, especially glass packaging, it was good exercise to work with the limitations of that process in mind when creating the product – from draft angles, narrow neck bottle processes, the use of threads and lugs, to adjusting the size of the push up all to be considered. This was essential to making a design file that is ready for production.

I created the branded label alluding to The French Dispatch movie, communicating an air of summer and citrus in France.
